Athleisure is a fashion movement and retail space that’s grown considerably in the past decade. According to a 2019 forecast, “The athleisure market size was valued at $155.2 billion in 2018 and is expected to reach $257.1 billion by 2026.”

How did this trend evolve? It can be attributed to a few things: changing social norms around what’s acceptable to wear; consumers seeking out clothes that are comfortable and flexible thanks to new fabrics; a growing focus on wellness and health generally. Brands across the clothing industry are responding to these changes by offering different takes on athleisure.
