Duckpin Meet Our Team
Co-Founder & CEO
Andrew began his career in print design but quickly found his true passion in web design and development. An engineer by nature, Andrew’s ability to envision and build beautiful and structurally-sound web experiences for our clients make him an indispensable component of the Duckpin team.
In his free time, Andrew can be found sailing with his family on his Pearson 26 sailboat named “Screw It Let’s Do It”, hiking trails throughout Baltimore County, or relaxing to some Marley with his wife, Christina, their sons Branson & Hendrix, and their furry children Mo and Grace.
Co-Founder & COO
Cara has spent 17 years honing her skills in many facets of the design business. A born planner, she is passionate about the process of design and is inspired by collaboration with a creative team to organize and craft effective design solutions. She brings a love for thoughtful, conceptual design and attention to detail to the Duckpin team.
On Saturdays, you can find Cara hitting the trails for a run, listening to the soulful sounds of Etta James, or getting lost in the aisles of Plaza Art.
Co-Founder & Creative Director
Chad has been developing, managing and executing complex design solutions for 16 years. He especially enjoys the process of developing a brand from the ground up. Chad’s keen sense of style and the ability to understand and bring a client’s vision to life has made him an invaluable asset to Duckpin.
When not “fontscavating” for his collection, you might catch Chad exploring the backwoods of Baltimore County while on his bike or running a trail or two.
Director of Marketing & Strategy
Noah has a background in film studies and creative writing, but after working in the non-profit sector for several years, he began to pursue his interest in web design and digital marketing. Noah joined the Duckpin team in August of 2014 and is currently leading Duckpin’s efforts to expand their digital marketing client base.
Outside of the digital marketing world, Noah enjoys spending time with his wife, Morgan, and their twin girls, Corrina and Suzanna, playing guitar, and doing his best MJ impression on the basketball court.
Director of Operations
Maryn has been meandering the world of design for the last 13 years. Inspired at a young age by the world of fashion magazines and Pop Art icons like Andy Warhol, she turned her influences into a career that has allowed her to run the design gamut. Her love of organization and color coding has been an asset to the fast paced environment of Duckpin.
In between collecting passport stamps, Maryn can be found hugging random dogs around Baltimore or channeling The Rock at the gym.
Ryan studied Graphic Design at York College of Pennsylvania. He has spent the past several years working as a developer. He moved to Baltimore in the winter of 2016 to live with his wife, Sarah, and joined the Duckpin crew at the beginning of 2017.
When he’s not reading through API documentation, Ryan enjoys hiking the Gunpowder Falls, playing guitar, and cooking delicious meals.
Andrew is a bit of an outsider to the creative services industry, having initially planned on pursuing a legal career. His journey, however, would change upon packing up all of his belongings and moving half-way across the world to Doha, Qatar in 2014. While there, Andrew dove headfirst into digital marketing and strategy, setting up the country’s first audio podcast and eventually working for Ogilvy & Mather.
Now having been back in the US for a year and settled into Baltimore, he has joined Duckpin to help grow its digital marketing services, especially when it comes to social media and digital storytelling.
Outside of work, Andrew can be found spending time with his wife, Faiza, cycling around the city, and preparing for the next CrossFit workout.
Kandice is a Baltimore native who earned her BA in Communication with a minor in Writing from McDaniel College. She started her writing career in journalism writing for a weekly newspaper before finding her niche in marketing. Kandice joined us in August 2018.
When she’s not working, Kandice expands her love for storytelling through acting and poetry. She’s also a cinephile and musicophile.
Senior Web Developer
Derek is a Baltimore native who jumped head-first into the development world in 2012. He continues to hone his skills and brings a wide range of client experience to the Duckpin team. Derek has an interest in bridging the gap between the creative and tech disciplines. He also has an eye for postmodern typography and contemporary art.
Off the web, Derek can be found searching for new street art and murals. He also enjoys tending to his garden, organizing his beloved sneaker collection, and rooting for the Ravens.
VP, Business Development
Sean was born and bred in Baltimore City. Sean went on to receive his undergraduate education from Washington College in Chestertown, MD. Upon graduating, he worked in the financial sector for nearly a decade, then ultimately found his way to the SaaS and digital agency world.
Sean has a passion for great creative and innovative digital strategies that truly affect our clients’ bottom line. It led him here to Duckpin, leading our Business Development efforts as Vice President.
When he is not at the office or with a client, Sean spends time with friends, family and his beautiful wife, Amber.
Andrew is a native Baltimoron, MICA grad, and multi-faceted designer. After spending time in Japan and South Korea, more of a world view has been integrated into his design philosophy, which now includes extensive experience in print, web, UX, environmental, and AR/VR design.
When not in front of a computer, Andrew can be seen hiking and camping primitively out in the wild and visiting local breweries.
Han is a multidisciplinary designer and illustrator from Southern California. She moved to Baltimore at the start of 2013 to finish out her degree on scholarship at MICA where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. Since graduating, she’s stuck around Baltimore and has been hard at work learning to build with code and sharpening her skills in branding, print and digital.
When she’s not working she stays busy reading Bon Appetít, powerlifting and cooking Ecuadorian family recipes.
Frontend Web Developer
Grant Black is a New Jersey transplant who originally came to the area to attend the University of Maryland for Landscape Architecture. During his studies, he discovered that he enjoyed designing algorithms more than the environment. This enthusiasm eventually turned into a full-blown obsession for coding and would lead to him working in web development starting in 2016.
When not working on clients’ websites, he spends his free time hanging out with his wife, watching football (Ravens, of course), lifting weights, and coding.
